Bachelor of Cybersecurity
A professionally oriented bachelor's programme in cybersecurity: we train defenders of information systems, networks and data.
Get a consultationAbout the programme
Cybersecurity combines fundamental technical training with regular applied work. The curriculum rests on solid mathematics, modern cryptographic approaches, algorithms and data structures, and the practical skills of designing, analysing and auditing information protection systems. Particular attention goes to cryptography, network and cloud security, building resilient software, personal data protection mechanisms and the use of artificial intelligence.
- Solid grounding in mathematics, cryptography and programming
- Practice above all: real cases, incident simulations and applied assignments
- A focus on the technologies ahead — cloud, AI and the cyber threats to come
- Soft skills: ethics, leadership and communication for responsible work in cybersecurity
What You Will Learn
Cryptography and cryptographic protocols
You will master the mathematical methods of data protection, encryption, digital signatures and cryptographic protocols that keep information confidential.
Protection of information systems and networks
You will learn to build a protected IT infrastructure and work with network security, access control, firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Vulnerability analysis and penetration testing
You will be able to find weak spots in systems, simulate attacks and test how well defences hold.
Designing secure software
You will study DevSecOps principles for building resilient applications and avoiding the typical mistakes through which attackers take control of software.
Computer forensics and incident investigation
You will train the methods of collecting digital evidence after an attack: analysing traces, recovering data and reconstructing the timeline of an incident.
Personal data protection and risk management
You will combine law and technology: working with regulations, assessing cyber risks and designing strategies that reduce the damage from incidents.
Cloud security and AI in cyber defence
You will study data protection in cloud environments and the use of AI to detect anomalies, assess threats and automate incident response.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a strong background in mathematics?
A basic background in mathematics is an advantage, since the programme includes analytical subjects. AUK supports students in raising their level step by step.
Can I combine studying with work?
Yes, many students combine studying with work. We recommend planning your workload together with an academic advisor, especially during internships and project modules.
Is the degree recognised internationally?
Yes. The programme follows the American standard of Arizona State University, which supports the international academic and career mobility of its graduates.
When do internships start?
The academic internship is scheduled for the fourth year. Extracurricular internships, arranged with the student and partner companies, can start as early as the second year.
Can I apply for a grant?
Yes. Grants are available both at admission and during your studies, according to the programme's terms and the student's results.
How long is the bachelor's programme?
The bachelor's programme takes 4 years and ends with a Ukrainian degree awarded in line with the national education standards.
Can I continue to a master's degree afterwards?
Yes. After the bachelor's programme students can continue at master's level — including the 4+1 track, which leads to a master's degree from Arizona State University.
What does the 4+1 format mean?
After the four-year bachelor's programme students can continue to a master's degree on a shortened track: one more year in an Arizona State University master's programme, and they graduate with an ASU master's degree.
Do I have to enrol in an AUK master's programme afterwards?
No. After the four years students can take a job or continue at another master's programme, in Ukraine or abroad.
